“Play Another Day,” says Dr. Bobby Brown
Had a chance to speak with Dr. Bobby Brown yesterday, a man unparalleled as former third baseman for the Yankees, a 4x World Series champion, and cardiologist who served in WWII and Korea as an Army doctor.
At 95, Brown remains calm about the current state of the world and said MLB will just have to play another day. “Spring training is not worth it if it costs one player his life,” he said, praising MLB for following precautions and trying to do the right thing for everyone in the long term.
The former president of the American League is also optimistic that we will get through this difficult time—as America always does. Wise and encouraging words from a gentleman who has witnessed every aspect of war, professional baseball and modern medicine.
